THE 2020 FRONT STEPS PROJECT

It all started in March 2020, when the initial wave of COVID-19 began sweeping through Dallas. Life as we know it seemed to change overnight—suddenly schools were shut down, dream weddings were postponed, and businesses large and small unknowingly closed their doors for the last time.

With a season full of cancelled sessions and some extra time on our well-sanitized hands, we discovered the Front Steps Project, a northeastern photographer’s vision to offer outdoor family portraits at home while raising money for her community.

We knew this could be an incredible way to spread some much-needed joy and help those hurting in our community, so we reached out immediately to set up a Dallas branch of the Front Steps Project. Right away, the interest was overwhelming. During the spring months that followed, we photographed more than 600 families in front of their homes and collectively raised $30,000 for the North Texas Food Bank.

WHAT’S NEXT?

the Front Steps sessions will be offered in Spring and Fall each year to continue our dedication to the North Texas Food Bank and our community. Look for dates in your neighborhood by visiting the Front Steps webpage at https://julianewmanphotography.com/front-steps
